Tuesday, 13th January 2026, marks a momentous occasion for the Badagry legal community as Kudofoke Oluwatosin Deyon, Esq. is set to be officially sworn in as a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The appointment, which was formally communicated by the Office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, follows Mr Deyon's successful fulfilment of the requirements set out under the Notaries Public Act.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place in Kano State, where Mr Deyon has established a significant legal presence. The event is scheduled for 3:30 pm at the Conference Room of the Kano State High Court of Justice Complex, situated within the Audu Bako Secretariat.

The oath will be administered by the Honourable Chief Judge of Kano State, acting on the authority of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony today, a jubilant Mr Deyon remarked.


The office of a Notary Public is a high-ranking position within the legal profession. By taking this oath today, Mr Deyon gains the statutory power to verify international documents, witness the execution of deeds, and administer oaths for use in both local and global legal proceedings.
