Former member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency and apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry West, Hon. #Bamgbose Hontonyon Joseph, has declared that the party in the area is now fully united, warning members against internal division and the public airing of party disputes.

Bamgbose made the remarks during a visit to the APC membership registration centre in Suntan, where he addressed party members on the need for discipline, maturity and internal mechanisms for resolving disagreements. He stressed that the era of caucuses within the party in Badagry West was over.

According to him, the increasing tendency of party members to take internal issues to social media was damaging to the image of the APC and undermining its cohesion.

“None of us is a saint in the business of politics. Let us stop washing our dirty linen outside. It does not portray us well as one party,” Bamgbose said.

He referenced the recent social media controversy involving Hon. #Gbenu Joseph, the immediate past council chairman, noting that the situation could have been better managed internally. He explained that the incident further reinforced his call for unity among party members.

“That is why I keep preaching unity. We are now one. There is no caucus anymore. APC in Badagry West is one family. In fact, we remain the majority, if not the only party,” he added.

Bamgbose also raised concerns about the vandalisation of electricity infrastructure in the area, particularly the cutting of electrical cables. He warned that such acts could slow down ongoing efforts to extend electricity supply to underserved communities, a development he described as a long-standing aspiration of residents.

“Cutting electrical cables gives our leadership a bad image and will slow the pace of bringing the ring of light to our communities,” he warned.

He further disclosed that there had been an attempted theft of a transformer in one of the communities, which was later recovered in Gbaji following prompt intervention. Bamgbose vowed that anyone found engaging in such acts would face consequences.

“We will not take this matter lightly. Anyone caught engaging in such acts will be brought to book. I will personally ensure thorough follow-up,” he said.

The APC leader called on party members and residents of #BadagryWest to protect public infrastructure and support initiatives aimed at promoting development, peace and unity across the division.
